    Field of application

    • For use indoors and wood not directly exposed to weather
    • For professional users only
    • Impregnation/hydrophobising of BauBuche at the factory
    • Temporary moisture protection during the transportation and construction phase
    • For use by professionals

    Properties

    • Solvent-based
    • Hydrophobising and non-film-forming moisture protection on a solvent base for reducing water absorption and swelling during the building material installation phase.
    • Preparation
      • Substrate requirements

        Wood moisture content max. 15%

The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease and loose substances, and prepared in the correct manner.

      • Preparations

Before applying the material, all trimming work such as milling, sawing and drilling must be complete.

If a chemical wood preservative is required, impregnation with IG-10 must take place before application of the material. Once sufficient drying time has passed, hydrophobising with Induline IL-170 may be carried out.

Take appropriate measures to protect adjacent building elements and materials that should not come into contact with the product.

    • Application
      • Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +15 °C to max. +30 °C
      • Brush / Dipping basin
      • Application requirements

Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +15 °C to max. +30 °C.

      • Immersion

Apply one coat of the material via immersion. The immersion time per component is at least 1 minute.

Owing to the required application quantities, application via immersion is preferred.

        Brush application

Apply the material generously in undiluted form (imperfections in the wood are only given limited protection when using brush application).

Apply the material at least 3 times wet on wet.

Application quantities must be strictly observed.

The required minimum application quantity must be ensured on imperfections in the wood, by means of immersion if necessary.

        Subsequent working of components

If further work such as milling, drilling or sawing is to be carried out after application of the material, the affected areas must be treated again with the product by brushing on 3 times wet on wet.

Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.

    • Application instructions
      • Drying time: can be worked over after 48 h
      • In indoor areas and sheltered outdoor areas, Induline SW-910 must be applied in addition as a clear end-grain wood preservative. The substrate must be sanded before Induline SW-910 is applied.

Aqua MSL-45/sm may be used in indoor areas and sheltered outdoor areas as a decorative subsequent coating.
The substrate must be sanded before Aqua MSL-45/sm is applied.

The material does not permanently protect the component, but rather is intended to reduce the water absorption of the building material during the installation phase.

Water absorption is significantly reduced by the product on a temporary basis, but cannot be completely eliminated.

Exposure to weather may cause impairments to the surface in the form of cracks and microbiological infestation, and may also cause colour changes.

The constituents used are highly reactive, therefore the material should be applied in a closed process to the greatest extent possible.

Further painting work should be carried out in a separate location to the impregnation process.

      • Drying

At least 48 hours at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity.
The specified drying times may be significantly reduced at higher temperatures and at a higher air exchange rate.

      • Thinning

        Ready to use

    • Working tools / cleaning
      • Brush / Dipping basin
      • Dipping tank/brush

      • Clean tools immediately after use with V 101 Thinner.
Dispose of the remains from cleaning properly.

    • Storage / shelf life
      • Store frost-free and cool / protect for moisture / close containers
      • Shelf-life 12 months
      • If stored unopened in its original container in a cool, dry place and protected against frost, the product will keep for at least 12 months.

    • Usage
      • Approx. 130 ml - 180 ml / m² per layer applied
      • Approx. 130 - 180 ml/m²
The application rate may vary significantly depending on the area portion taken up by the cut edges and the end-grain wood.
Before starting the process, representative immersion tests must be carried out on test specimens that will allow useful conclusions to be drawn.

    • Disposal instructions
      • Larger quantities of leftover product should be disposed of in the original containers in accordance with the applicable regulations. Completely empty, clean containers should be recycled. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not allow to enter the sewage system. Do not empty into drains.

    • Safety / regulations
