    Field of application

    • Interior wood
    • Wood tones: coarse-pored wood such as oak, ash, walnut, mahogany, wenge
    • As a colour stain in bright, white and grey shades: fine-pored wood such as birch, maple, beech and coarse-pored woods such as ash
    • Production of translucent varnishes

    Properties

    • Stain finish for wood colours: rustic, emphasises pores
    • Stain finish as colour stain in bright, white and grey shades: semi-transparent to opaque
    • Colours: wide range of wood tones, bright, white and grey shades
    • Very good light-fastness
    • All colours are mixable with one another
    • Preparation
      • Substrate requirements

The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease and loose substances, and prepared in the correct manner.

        Wood moisture content: 8-12%

      • Preparations

Wash off greasy or resin-rich woods/substrates with WV-891 or V-890. Use UN-894 indoors on the construction site. Ensure good ventilation for solvents.

        Wet if necessary.

        Sand the raw wood with P 120 - 180.

        Brush wood pores if necessary.

Apply the stain immediately after sanding.

    • Application
      • Stir well, including during application or after a break in work.

Apply material evenly with a brush or by spraying.

It is recommended to apply by spraying then touch up with the brush.

Flow cup gun: nozzle size: 1.6 - 2.0 mm; atomiser air pressure: 1 - 2 bar

Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.

    • Application instructions
      • Check colour, adhesion and compatibility with the substrate by setting up a trial area.

Do not use as a colour stain in bright, white and grey shades on wood types with a high content of active substances (e.g. oak, mahogany), as this can result in discolouration.

If necessary, the transparency can be adjusted with Aqua-HB-053-P clear.

Overcoat with water-based or solvent-based clear varnishes. For optimum protection of the stained wood against premature optical changes due to UV radiation, ULM-822 Universal Light Stabiliser can be added to the clear varnish.

      • Drying

Practice values at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.

Low temperatures, poor ventilation and high humidity delay drying.

    • Working tools / cleaning
      • Flow cup gun, paintbrush with natural bristles (metal-free ferrule)

Clean tools with water or Aqua RK-898 Cleaning Concentrate immediately after use.

Ensure that any residue from cleaning is disposed of correctly.

    • Storage / shelf life
      • If stored unopened in its original container in a cool, dry place and protected against frost, the product will keep for at least 12 months.

    • Usage
      • 80 - 120 ml/m² (plus spraying loss)
