Ottawa’s Parliament Hill can be found on the southern shore of the Ottawa River. The buildings that house the Parliament of Canada sit on this hill. The most striking of these buildings is the Centre Block, which includes the 92 metre high Peace Tower. The West Block and East Block mainly contain offices. In 2002, a comprehensive refurbishment programme was started in the West Block, at a cost of around one billion dollars. Work on the Centre Block began in 2019.

- Short description
- The ambitious stonemasons working in 1859 decided to give each of the more than 750 windows its own individual character. When it came to constructing the new frames from sapele wood, every single window had to be carefully measured out. The new windows needed to be provided with an innovative coating.
