    Field of application

    • For use indoors and outdoors
    • for dimensionally stable elements
    • for elements with limited dimensional stability
    • for not dimensionally stable elements
    • Primer and intermediate coat
    • For use on interior and exterior wood
    • Dimensionally stable wood building elements: e.g. windows and doors
    • Wood building elements with limited dimensional stability, e.g. folding shutters, matchboarding, summerhouses
    • Wood building elements with no dimensional stability: e. g. fences, framework, carports, planking

    Properties

    • Water-based
    • Highly opaque
    • Weatherproof and moisture-regulating
    • Reduces yellow stains caused by water soluble substances in the wood when light shades of finishing coat are used
    • Preparation
      • Substrate requirements

Dimensionally stable wood building elements: wood moisture content 11-15%

Wood building elements with limited or no dimensional stability: wood moisture content max. 18%

      • Preparations

Thoroughly remove any dirt, grease and non-adhering old coatings.

Sand grey and weathered wood surfaces down to sound, bright wood.

Remove loose knots and any surface resin with a suitable product (e.g. thinner or brush cleaner). Fill any voids with a suitable wood filler if required.

Pre-treat wood in outdoor areas requiring protection against soft rot and blue stain with Remmers Wood Preservative Primer* (not necessary for wood in indoor areas).

Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 18 "Coatings on Wood and Wooden Working Materials in Outdoor Areas".

    • Application
      • Stir before use
      • By brush / By roller Airless/airmix spraying / Flow cup gun
      • Application temperature: min. 5 °C max. 30 °C
      • Application requirements

Temperature of the material, air and substrate: from min. +5 °C to max. +30 °C

      • Apply a second coat once the first has dried.

        Stir well.

Apply with a brush, roller or by spraying.

Airless spraying: nozzle size: 0.28-0.33 mm; material pressure: 70-90 bar.

Air-mix spraying: nozzle size: 0.28-0.33 mm; material pressure: 70-90 bar, atomiser air pressure 1-2 bar.

Flow cup gun: nozzle size: 1.8-2.0 mm, atomiser air pressure: 2-2.5 bar

        Re-coat once dry.

    • Application instructions
      • Drying time: can be worked over after 12 h
      • Use the material in undiluted form.

Check the product’s compatibility with the substrate and its insulating effect by applying a trial coat.

Ensure sufficient ventilation when applying indoors.

      • Drying

Initially dry: approx. 1 hour Can be sanded after: approx. 4 hours Can be overcoated after: approx. 12 hours

Practice values at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.

If the recommended minimum drying times are not observed, the sealing effect will be diminished.

Lower temperatures, limited air exchange and high humidity will delay the drying process and lead to a poorer sealing effect.

      • Thinning

        Ready for use

    • Working tools / cleaning
      • By brush / By roller Airless/airmix spraying / Flow cup gun
      • Acrylic brush

      • Clean tools immediately after use with water and detergent.

Ensure that any residue from cleaning is disposed of correctly.

    • Storage / shelf life
      • Shelf-life 24 months
      • Store frost-free and cool / protect for moisture / close containers
      • If stored unopened in its original container in a cool, dry place and protected against frost, the product will keep for at least 24 months.

    • Usage
      • Approx. 70 ml - 80 ml / m² per layer applied
      • 2 x approx. 70 - 80 ml/m²

      • Using less than the recommended application quantity will lead to a poorer sealing effect.

    • Disposal instructions
      • Larger quantities of leftover product should be disposed of in the original containers in accordance with the applicable regulations. Completely empty, clean containers should be recycled. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not allow to enter the sewage system. Do not empty into drains.
