Westbury Shopping Mall – Fastrack Floor UpgradeShort Story:Jurys Hotel Group have used Remmers’ rapid hardening floor system to upgrade the Westbury Shopping Mall in Dublin. Working over the Bank Holiday weekend, from close of business on Saturday evening, M V O’Halloran’s team had the Remmers floors completed and cured to allow the Mall to re-open first thing on the Tuesday morning.
Full Story: Jurys Hotel Group, the owners of the exclusive Westbury Shopping Mall in Dublin, wanted to upgrade and improve the appearance of the worn marble and natural stone tiled floor in the Mall – but access and time was strictly limited for clear commercial reasons. However their contractor M V O’Halloran was able to propose the ideal solution using Remmers’ Quickfill System. This is an extremely fast curing and lightfast decorative epoxy resin based system, which produces a very attractive finish, is easy to clean, and is highly resistant to pedestrian traffic marking and dirt pick up – even in heavily used retail areas such as the Westbury Mall. The works commenced immediately after the stores closed on Saturday evening. The existing tiles were prepared and primed, followed by the 3 coat system incorporating Acolan Coloured Granoflakes to an innovative design from the project team. Through electing to work over a Bank Holiday weekend, and despite only being able to start the works at close of business on Saturday evening, the floors were all fully completed and cured, to enable normal business operations to resume for all of the retail outlets, first thing on the Tuesday morning.
