The White House Returns to Former GloryThe White House in Greenwich, London, was an original Georgian building that had been extended and refurbished several times using different materials and techniques. At least some of the visible problems were caused by the masonry coating because it was not breathable, so this was removed. This revealed that the original lime renders had been patched with cement based mortars which were incompatible, leading to deterioration and delamination from the brickwork. To remedy the situation, the brickwork was treated with Remmers Salt Inhibitor and the renders were replaced using Remmers lime based materials. Finally to restore the appearance it was sealed and protected using Remmers LA Silicone Coating System.
