Royal College of Art – Professionally Re-touched
by Remmers
The Royal College of Art is a Grade II Listed Building directly adjacent to the Royal Albert Hall in London. Unfortunately all of the original windows had corroded and had to be replaced.
Additionally some of the external exposed aggregate and reconstituted stone faced mullions were cracked and spalling in areas due to carbonation reaching the steel and allowing it to corrode.
The internal masonry damaged when removing the existing windows, was made good with Remmers Betofix RM, a lightweight repair mortar suitable for use on horizontal, vertical and overhead surfaces. As it is fast curing the redecoration works could also proceed the very same day.
The exposed aggregate and stone surfaces were repaired using colour matched Remmers Restoration Mortar, tooled to match the original profile.
