Remmers Defends the Ramparts

Killeen Castle in Southern Ireland is undergoing a major transformation as it is redeveloped into a prestige Golf and Country Club. The castle has had a very chequered history and was once even burnt down and almost destroyed in error by the IRA.

Today the historic turrets and castellated ramparts of the main structure are being cleaned, consolidated and restored by specialists Interclean Limited, for main contractor Cleary Doyle. Due to the highly sensitive nature of these works on the historic structure, Remmers’ comprehensive stone cleaning and restoration system is being used throughout.

The advanced Remmers system is also designed to colour match the existing stonework that can no longer be sourced for the project.
