Heritage Stone Restoration and Conservation

Remmers are undoubtedly the world leaders in stone and masonry restoration. This includes mixed facades constructed from combinations of stone, timber, masonry, concrete and rendering. These are particularly difficult to refurbish and protect successfully whilst maintaining the integrity of the original materials. The reasons are their different structural, thermal movement, corrosion, modes of deterioration and permeability properties.

Extensive research and development facilities have put us at the forefront of the latest technologies for the successful cleaning, restoration, conservation and preservation of all of these materials. This includes chemical cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment for sensitive surfaces, consolidating solutions for improving weakened substrates, a full range of restoration and levelling mortars, plus all types of protective impregnations and coatings.

Recent restoration projects carried out in England using Remmers systems include The Houses of Parliament and The British Museum in London, the C&G Building Society in Yeovil, The Waterloo Buildings in Blackburn and the Armitage Building at the University in Newcastle.
