Deco Paint Compliant Stair Varnishing

Also with Solvent-Based Products

The problem is not just the decision between solvent and water based products to comply with the Deco Paint Directive. For many operations, the switch that would have to be made is a large issue. These operations do not want to switch or cannot switch to water based products because of the large investments involved to create the prerequisites for application.

For these cases, Remmers Baustofftechnik offers two new products for the area of varnishing stairs. In spite of being solvent based, these products comply with the Deco Paint Directive.

PUR TL-222 Stair Varnish is a completely new, 2-component, PUR varnish system that works without a high binder or solid content of more than 50%. The reduction of VOC content in PUR TL-222 Stair Varnish is not dependent on solid content. This new hybrid varnish system has been formulated with inorganic solvents. The resulting solid content is reflected by fast drying, the ability to be stacked without any problems, very good flow properties and high quality, elegant surfaces. Its ability to emphasise the grain, surface hardness, resistance to abrasion and chemicals are just as good as conventional, 2-component PUR varnishes.

The second product, HWS-112 Hard Wax Seal, also complies with the Deco Paint Directive even though it is solvent based. This single component product gives wood an especially natural and warm surface with good resistance. It is also distinguished by an extremely low tendency to become shiny when subjected to mechanical loads. Cloth matt surfaces retain their elegant look.
